Create and Melt

How fitting that Cookie Monster is a Scorpio. He lives out his lust (in his case cookies!)
with wild abandon. It's the New Moon in Scorpio today, a meltdown of the old ruts and soul stifling stagnant attachments is in order. "the means of your life create and Melt"-Dalis Car

Proberbial Blake

Proverbs of Hell

Unlike that of Milton or Dante, Blake's conception of Hell is not as a place of punishment, but as a source of unrepressed, somewhat Dionysian energy, opposed to the authoritarian and regulated perception of Heaven. Blake's purpose is to create what he called a "memorable fancy" in order to reveal to his readers the repressive nature of conventional morality and institutional religion, which he describes thus:

The ancient Poets animated all sensible objects with Gods or Geniuses, calling them by the names and adorning them with the properties of woods, rivers, mountains, lakes, cities, nations, and whatever their enlarged & numerous senses could perceive.

In the most famous part of the book, Blake reveals the Proverbs of Hell. These display a very different kind of wisdom from the Biblical Book of Proverbs. The diabolical proverbs are provocative and paradoxical. Their purpose is to energise thought. Several of Blake's proverbs have become famous:

"The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom;
The tigers of wrath are wiser than the horses of instruction;
One law for the lion and ox is oppression"
Blake explains that,
"Without Contraries is no progression. Attraction and Repulsion,
Reason and Energy, Love and Hate, are necessary to Human existence.
From these contraries spring what the religious call Good & Evil.
Good is the passive that obeys Reason.
Evil is the active springing
from Energy."

During a visit to a "printing house in hell," Blake learns that diabolic printing is conducted with corrosives (that is by etching). This method helps to "cleanse the doors of perception." Blake promises to adopt this "infernal method" in his own works back on earth.
The book ends with a series of revolutionary prophesies and exhortations, climaxing into a fierce proclamation for the different peoples of the world to break the bonds of religious and political oppression.

The Sun - posted by blanca

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

In Love, There Are Never Two - posted by blanca

"Love gives everything; there is no thought of receiving. Love has no complaints; it accepts all. Love removes all fears; it transforms all ugliness into beauty. Because love is the real refuge, it is the beauty of life. Love is the spring of life; it makes it ever new and fresh.

Love is the expression of the Self. It is the thread on which all beings are strung. When love awakens in a person, the divinity in him or her also awakens — for love is God; it is the manifestation of the divine.

In love, there are never two. We feel a river to have two banks only because of the water in between. If the water of the ego dries up, only oneness remains. When love awakens, the ego disappears. Then, human beings realize their oneness with each other. One realizes his or her oneness with the whole of creation. Divine love is knowledge, liberation and bliss. When we become filled with that divine love, we are able to see God in everything and that itself is the ultimate fulfillment."

"Scorpios burn themselves out and eat themselves up and they are careless about themselves - like me. I swing between happiness and misery and I cry easily. I am a mixture of my mother's determination and my father's optimism. I am part prude and part non-conformist and I say what I think and don't dissemble. I am a mixture of French, Irish and Yorkshire, and perhaps that's what it all is."~Vivien Leigh

"Advice to Myself" by Louise Erdrich

Leave the dishes.
Let the celery rot in the bottom drawer of the refrigerator
and an earthen scum harden on the kitchen floor.
Leave the black crumbs in the bottom of the toaster.
Throw the cracked bowl out and don't patch the cup.
Don't patch anything. Don't mend. Buy safety pins.
Don't even sew on a button.
Let the wind have its way, then the earth
that invades as dust and then the dead
foaming up in gray rolls underneath the couch.
Talk to them. Tell them they are welcome.
Don't keep all the pieces of the puzzles
or the doll's tiny shoes in pairs, don't worry
who uses whose toothbrush or if anything
matches, at all.
Except one word to another. Or a thought.
Pursue the authentic-decide first
what is authentic,
then go after it with all your heart.
Your heart, that place
you don't even think of cleaning out.
That closet stuffed with savage mementos.
Don't sort the paper clips from screws from saved baby teeth
or worry if we're all eating cereal for dinner
again. Don't answer the telephone, ever,
or weep over anything at all that breaks.
Pink molds will grow within those sealed cartons
in the refrigerator. Accept new forms of life
and talk to the dead
who drift in though the screened windows, who collect
patiently on the tops of food jars and books.
Recycle the mail, don't read it, don't read anything
except what destroys
the insulation between yourself and your experience
or what pulls down or what strikes at or what shatters
this ruse you call necessity.

the eyes of a child look through me - by blanca

With this Saturn in Leo affecting humanity, my perpetually serious attitude has changed quite a bit.

Saturn said: "You either lighten up or else..."

Always eager for something new, I've been following this 'command' and I must say... it works. I am unleashing the overwhelming imagination of my childhood. Sure, sometimes it gets me in trouble, but that is so much more rewarding than a dry life of hard cold reality.

The child is making her appearance everywhere: from my home decoration, my dance work, the way I interact with friends and loved ones, my taste for circus arts... The most amazing thing I'm feeling is this fearlessness I never experienced before. Who knew children are so fearless... I always looked down at them... I was never one myself!

Here's a recent inspiration of mine ~

dreaming, imperfect dreaming
caught in a life repeating
always just out of grasp
sacred visions of a light shared beyond

dreaming, the days pass through me
I've spent a lifetime scheming
all I had hoped to be
whispers lazy in a dream far away

witness, I am a witness
to the darkness and to the fire

gazing up at a single star
I dream of wings to take me higher

dreams, imperfect dreaming
touching just as they're leaving
always just out of grasp
sacred visions of a light shared beyond

looking up at a single star
I need your wings to take me higher

I'm dreaming
the world is dreaming
I heard the sound of millions breathing
cast into the night
we wait for the dark to turn to light

the eyes of a child look through me
they beg me to tell the story
of all that we can be
when we dare to live out our dreams

collex archetypes

we have been studying the 22 major arcana of the tarot as a weekly process to work through our show "discordia"'s creation. we began the works for "discordia" on winter solstice '06, and the show falls on the weekend of summer solstice. at the beginning of our archetype study we gathered together the cards which represent each of us according to numerology and astrology (some of us have the same, or even two or three!). This (the photo) was the official start of our conscious journey into "discordia."
